The more than 150 motorcycle riders will be stopping for the night at the Holiday Inn Express in North Platte around 7pm and will setting up an area in the parking lot for fans to gather and meet and greet with many of the celebrity's making the trip.&nbsp;

Among the celebrities participating in the 2024 Ride are NASCAR Hall of Famers&nbsp;Richard Petty&nbsp;and&nbsp;Hershel McGriff; former NASCAR drivers&nbsp;Max Papis,&nbsp;David Ragan,&nbsp;Ken Schrader&nbsp;and&nbsp;Kenny Wallace; former NFL great and Heisman Trophy winner&nbsp;Herschel Walker; and TV personalities&nbsp;Rick Allen&nbsp;who is from Nebraska and&nbsp;Rutledge Wood.

North Platte, Neb. - The Mid-Plains United Way is preparing to announce the 2024-2025 agency partners as the board is finalizing the last presentations from non-profits who submitted in an application. The new agencies will be announced sometime next week. As the campaign year ends, the united way is around $169,000 out of the $200,000 goal and making a last push effort. &nbsp;

Folks can now donate monthly if they like or May 8th is Giving Day which the united way will be a part of. As details become available, Mid-Plains United Way is preparing to host an event in June called human tractor pull. The event will run during NebraskaLand Days.&nbsp;

North Platte, Neb. - Mid-Plains Community College (MPCC) North Platte location is hosting the Knights BBQ Cookoff on April 20th on the NPCC South Campus pavilion. Public activities will be available during the cookoff which are set to kick off at 4:00pm, 6:00pm is when the meal will be served and awards for the competition will take place at 7:30. Rascal Martinez, an alum of MPCC will be performing live music around 6:00pm.&nbsp;

MPCC numbers for the competition are low and are looking for anywhere from 5-15 teams to join the competition. If numbers remain low, the event will no longer have a competition but those in attendance will still receive a meal. North Platte, Neb. - The Prairie Arts Center (PAC) is gearing up with new events and classes for the month of April and beyond. The PAC is hosting a concert this Saturday as welcome Job, Peter and Chuck for a one night performance. The trio, which used to sing together is getting back together for the evening with their concert at the PAC called "You Can't Make Old Friends". 

The show is set to begin at 7:00pm and very few tickets remain, to purchase a ticket if still available, <a href="https://www.prairieartscenter.org/booking-calendar/you-can-t-make-old-friends-concert?referral=service_list_widget">click here</a>. The PAC is also will be hosting classes for adults and kids. Kid classes sign ups are on April 22nd.&nbsp;

The PAC is hosting a concert this Saturday as welcome Job, Peter and Chuck for a one night performance. The trio, which used to sing together is getting back together for the evening with their concert at the PAC called "You Can't Make Old Friends". </p><p>The show is set to begin at 7:00pm and very few tickets remain, to purchase a ticket if still available, <a href="https://www.prairieartscenter.org/booking-calendar/you-can-t-make-old-friends-concert?referral=service_list_widget">click here</a>. The PAC is also will be hosting classes for adults and kids. The event starts at 5:00pm and the kids' race will start at 5:45pm. The run was created in honor of longtime Lincoln County CASA member Kevin Kennedy who passed away a few years ago. The Lincoln County CASA Kevin Kennedy Annual 5K and Kids Run (Fun Mile) on April 13th at Iron Horse Park, just south of the I-80 Entrance!

 The 5K kicks off at 5:00 PM, followed by the Kids Run starting at 5:45 PM. Get ready to dash through the scenic route and enjoy the thrill of the run!&nbsp;Don't forget to dress up as your favorite superhero, because there are prizes awaiting the best superhero costumes! Unleash your inner hero and stand out in the crowd.

North Platte, Neb. - The Mid-Plains United Way recently held their Easter Egg Hunt event back on March 30th at Pals Brewing. The event was a huge success in the kid's egg hunt but also the adult hunt, as over $3,000 was raised. Mid-Plains United Way is also getting ready for Giving Day on May 8th. The organization also recently introduced a monthly donation online from the organization's website if you would like to give a recurring donation.&nbsp;

North Platte, Neb. - NPIce concluded their second year with great successful. NPIce offered public skating, hockey lessons, drop-in hockey, learn to skate and residents and surrounding communities took notice and made the trip out to the rink in North Platte.&nbsp;&nbsp;

NPIce is already looking ahead for the 2023-2024 winter season and has sponsorships and project goals ready to go. A goal project goal that NPIce has been thinking about is adding a cover over the rink. During Feb. we seen a few days where the warm weather caused the ice to melt. NPIce will be a part of Giving Day on May 8th, planning on doing more dine out days and also having a glo ball golf tournament in North Platte.&nbsp;

The event is taking place at Second Chapter Brewing in Ogallala from 4:00-6:00pm (MT). The event is free to attend. The event was designed to bring together Keith County entrepreneurs to network and bounce ideas off each other and more.&nbsp;

After talking through the agenda, the duo discussed the upcoming post office meeting next week and Mayor Kelliher gives a broad update on the upcoming election year.&nbsp;

NORTH PLATTE - The North Platte city council held a regular meeting on March 20th and different agendas were discussed amongst the council. Topics discussed were a new format of agenda for the city council agenda, parking ordinance for the Willow Street Via Duct and a wetland purchase agreement for Tall Grass Company.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Post News Director Canon Rath chatted with Olivia Dobesh, Tuesday Allen and Enlai Hou who are students on the North Platte Student Council. The North Platte Student Council is hosting a Light Up the Night 5k and Mile with the proceeds for the event going to Make A Wish Nebraska. &nbsp;

The race is March 30rd at Cody Park in North Platte. The run is set to begin at 7:30pm. To run the 5K it costs $28 while the mile costs $15.
