The Bluejays and Pioneers have met nine times in the regular season, with Creighton holding the edge 4-2-3. In Denver, the Bluejays are 1-0-2 against the host team. The two squads have battled consistently in recent years, facing off in 2023, 2024 and 2025. During the last three meetings there has been one draw and each team has a win.
Scouting Denver (1-5-1)
Typically a powerhouse, Denver has struggled in its first season as a member of the West Coast Conference. After opening the 2026 season with a draw, Denver dropped three consecutive matches before besting Tulsa 3-0 on Sept. 4. The Pioneers have lost their last two since that win. Denver, however, has played much better at home with a 1-0-1 mark.
The Pioneers have seven goals in seven matches, led by two from Bryce Willoughby. He also leads Denver with six points.
Alex Hohl has been in net throughout the season, allowing 18 goals in 630 minutes.
Scouting #14 Creighton (7-0-2)
Creighton continues to lead the nation in assists (1st - 38), assists per match (1st - 4.22), goals (1st - 31) and points (1st - 100). Creighton is also second in goal differential (2nd - +21). The Bluejays, however, have played just one road match this season.
Senior Matthew Reed leads Creighton with seven goals in 2026, while freshman Jordan Igwenma has four goals and four assists.
The goalkeeper role saw Matthew Hudson post a shutout in his first time back in the net in almost two weeks.
Juarez Named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
#14 Creighton Men's Soccer fifth-year transfer Allan Juarez collected his first conference accolade as the California transfer was named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week on Monday, September 21. With BIG EAST play beginning, most teams played one contests during the week of September 14-20. Juarez led Creighton to a 1-0-0 start to conference competition with a 3-0 win over Providence on September 18, scoring the game-winning goal and assisting another.
Juarez gave the Bluejays a 1-0 edge in the 31st minute (30:02) by finishing a series of passes from freshman Carter Derksen and sophomore Ayden Kokoszka, then added an assist on Creighton's third goal in the 62nd minute (61:44) to setup junior Angel Lopez. The three point effort matched Juarez career-high, set in his Bluejay debut against Florida International on Aug. 20.
Bluejays Looking for to Continue Undefeated Streak
Through nine matches Creighton has not suffered a loss, winning seven and settling for a pair of draws. The last time the Bluejays opened a season in such fashion was 2015. That season Creighton got off to a 15-0-0 start.
Creighton In Conference Openers
Since joining the BIG EAST prior to the 2013 season, Creighton is 10-3-1 during the first conference match of the season, including a 3-1 win over Providence on Sept. 19. All-time the Bluejays are 23-7-6 in conference openers and 29-4-3 in home conference openers.
