Five-Time NCAA Champion Coming to North Platte for Girls Wrestling Camp

North Platte is bringing nationally recognized talent to western Nebraska next week, hosting a two-day camp led by five-time NCAA national champion Cameron Guerin on May 23–24 at North Platte High School.

Guerin, widely regarded as one of the best collegiate wrestlers in the country, will lead sessions covering technical skill development, competitive mindset training, and live wrestling, along with a meet-and-greet opportunity for participants.

The Chasing Gold Wrestling Camp is open to the public and welcomes athletes of all ages and experience levels, from first-time wrestlers to those already competing at the varsity level. Registration is $100 per athlete, with team discounts available.

Organizers say the camp reflects broader momentum for the sport in Nebraska. Women's wrestling has grown significantly at the high school and collegiate levels in recent years, and events like this are part of a deliberate effort to deepen that foundation in the western part of the state.

Registration is available at https://bit.ly/3Ro6KuU. Athletes or parents with questions can contact camp coordinator Matt Paeth at mpaeth@nppsd.org.
