DAMASCUS—For the second straight day, U.S. forces conducted strikes against Iranian backed militia groups, according to a statement from the U.S. Central Command.

These strikes targeted  weapons storage and logistics headquarters facility.  The strikes were in response to a rocked attack on U.S. personnel at  Patrol Base Shaddadi, according to the command.

There was no damage to U.S. facilities and no injuries to U.S. or parter forces during the attack.

These strikes will degrade the Iranian backed groups’ ability to plan and launch future attacks on U.S. and Coalition forces who are in the region to conduct D-ISIS operations.

"We have made it clear that attacks on U.S. personnel, partner forces and facilities will not be tolerated and that we retain the right to defend ourselves, " said General Michael Erik Kurilla, Centcom Commander.
