(Lincoln, Neb.) — The Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) is pleased to announce the opening of a procurement bid opportunity under the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Formula Program. NDOT has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) Number R231-24 for the selection of one or more qualified contractors to build, own and operate direct current fast charging (DCFC) stations at seven strategically located sites along the I-80 corridor.
This initiative is a key component of Nebraska’s commitment to expanding electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure, supporting the transition to a more sustainable transportation network. The DCFC stations established through this RFP will be funded by the NEVI Formula Program and will be required to meet all program requirements for a minimum of five years after becoming operational.
