The Nebraska women’s gymnastics team is set to compete in the first round of the NCAA Championships on Wednesday, April 1, at the Maravich Center in Baton Rouge, La. The Huskers will compete against Air Force at 2 p.m. (CT) and will be streamed on ESPN+. The winner will face off against No. 2 LSU, No. 15 Clemson and No. 17 Auburn on Thursday.
The top two teams from each of the two sessions taking place on Thursday will advance to the NCAA Regional Final, which will be on Saturday, April 4 at 5 p.m. (CT). Session I features No. 7 Stanford, No. 10 Michigan, No. 22 North Carolina and Utah State.
Last Time Out
The Big Red kicked off its postseason run at the Big Ten Championships and placed 12th with a score of 195.075.
UCLA finished in first with a score of 198.450. Michigan State placed second (197.475), Minnesota was third (196.900), Michigan was fourth (196.800), Iowa was fifth (196.700), Ohio State was sixth (196.250), Penn State was seventh (196.000), Rutgers was eighth (195.700), Washington was ninth (195.475), Maryland was 10th (195.300), Illinois was 11th (195.125) and NU was 12th (195.075).
Scouting the Competition
Session II of the LSU Regional will include Nebraska and Air Force, along with No. 2 LSU, No. 15 Clemson and No. 17 Auburn.
Air Force has an NQS score of 195.605 and a high team score of 197.150. The Falcons earned a 195.750 to take fourth at the Mountain West Championships.
The No. 2 LSU Tigers are 17-5-1 on the season with a 5-3 mark in conference competition. They own an NQS of 197.920, including a high score of 198.325. Most recently, they finished third at the SEC Championships with a 197.950.
The No. 15 Clemson Tigers have an NQS of 196.686 and a high score of 197.175. They are 10-8 overall (3-3 ACC). Clemson won the ACC Championship with a 197.100.
The No. 17 Auburn Tigers have an NQS of 196.498 and a high score of 197.250. They are 4-12 overall (0-8 SEC). AU finished ninth at the SEC Championships with a 195.300.
