She had a breakout sophomore season, hitting .318 with 15 doubles, one triple, nine home runs and 32 RBIs. Kuszak also scored 31 runs and posted a .599 slugging percentage. She ranked sixth in the Big Ten conference in doubles and produced 11 games with multiple hits and nine games with multiple RBIs.
As a freshman in 2023, Kuszak played in 24 games with 13 starts. She collected four hits in limited at bats – including one double and one home run – while scoring six runs and drawing five walks.
Kuszak hit .278 with 16 doubles, one triple, 10 home runs and 33 RBIs over 76 games in her two seasons at Wisconsin. She started 65 games as a Badger with 31 starts at second base, 30 at shortstop and four in right field.
A native of Broomfield, Colorado, Kuszak has numerous family ties to the Cornhusker state, and she played with several current Huskers on the Nebraska Gold team that won the 2021 Premier Girls Fastpitch national championship.
“We are thrilled to add Ava to the Red Team,” Head Coach Rhonda Revelle said. “Ava is a fiery competitor who is a powerful, fast and explosive player. Husker fans will absolutely love how she plays the game with so much energy and passion.”
