The No. 8 Nebraska softball team scored runs in each of the final three innings on Tuesday night and defeated the Creighton Bluejays, 8-2, in Omaha, Neb.
With the win, NU improved to 27-6 on the season, while Creighton fell to 18-19.
Kacie Hoffmann was 2-for-4 with a homer to key the Husker offense, while Ava Kuszak added two RBIs and the top three of the order in Jordy Frahm, Hannah Coor and Hannah Camenzind all had two hits. Lauren Camenzind contributed a double for NU.
Alexis Jensen (14-2) grabbed the win in the circle. She threw four innings with only one hit, no runs and seven strikeouts. Kylee Magee got the start for the Big Red and threw three innings with two hits and two runs.
Frahm opened the game with a single, before Hannah Coor walked and H. Camenzind singled to score Frahm. A Kuszak double sent Coor home to make the score 2-0 Big Red.
Creighton evened the score with a two-run homer in the bottom of the second.
Frahm singled in the top of the fifth and scored on a Kuszak RBI single.
In the top of the sixth, Hoffmann singled through the right side and Kennadi Williams, who pinch ran, advanced to second on a Samantha Bland bunt and scored on a L. Camenzind double. Bland crossed the plate on a Frahm foul sacrifice fly before a Coor single to center field sent L. Camenzind home. Another foul sacrifice fly scored Coor, who went to third on a H. Camenzind double to make the score 7-2.
Hoffmann added a run in the top of the seventh on a solo shot to seal the 8-2 victory.
The Huskers will return home to Bowlin Stadium for a three-game series against Rutgers this weekend. Game one on Friday, April 3, is set for 5 p.m. (CT) and will be televised on the Big Ten Network. The contest can also be heard across the Huskers Radio Network.

The Huskers have now scored 4+ runs in 22 innings this year.
