Head Coach German Dalmagro and the Nebraska women’s tennis team announced Reya Coe as a new addition to the 2024 squad.
“I am extremely excited to join the Huskers this season,” Coe said. “The facilities are amazing and everyone on the staff and team have been very welcoming from day one. I’m really grateful for this opportunity and to be surrounded by such awesome people.”
Coe, a native of Plano, Texas, and graduate of Lakes Tennis Academy, spent her freshman fall semester at 2023 NCAA Runner-Up NC State, where she posted a 5-6 mark in singles play and a 2-1 record in doubles competition.
“We are really excited to add Reya to our team this spring,” Dalmagro said. “She was great during the recruiting process and she will be a really good fit for our Husker family. Some things that stood out were her passion for tennis, her commitment to get better and her love to compete. Those are things we look for and she’s eager to get to work right away. We look forward to her being a valuable addition to the team and the community.”
Before her freshman season, Coe was a part of the sixth-ranked recruiting class in the nation as she was a five-star recruit and ranked the No. 4 recruit out of the state of Texas and No. 50 overall. Her highest USTA 16s singles ranking was No. 15 and was a singles finalist at the 2021 February and October USTA L2 events. Additionally, she was a 2021 Texas Slam State Championship singles finalist, a singles semifinalist at the 2021 Eddie Herr 16s Championships and a doubles finalist at the 2021 Atlanta ITF J4 and 2021 Jalisco, Mexico, ITF J4 tournaments.
