A California man has been sentenced in federal court in Nebraska for his role in a methamphetamine distribution conspiracy that involved shipping drugs into the state.

Federal prosecutors say 42-year-old Jason Arias, of Canyon Country, California, was sentenced to 63 months in prison following his conviction for conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

Investigators determined Arias was involved in mailing packages of methamphetamine from California to individuals in Nebraska. Authorities intercepted multiple shipments between May and September 2022, with packages containing between a quarter pound and one pound of methamphetamine.

Law enforcement officials say evidence in the case included surveillance video of packages being mailed, as well as fingerprint evidence linking Arias to at least one shipment. A search of a co-conspirator’s residence in California also uncovered methamphetamine, and investigators say Arias admitted to helping send the packages.

A co-defendant in the case was previously sentenced in 2025.

After serving his prison sentence, Arias will be required to complete a five-year term of supervised release. There is no parole in the federal system.

The case was investigated by the Lincoln/Lancaster County Drug Task Force, the United States Postal Inspection Service, and the Los Angeles Police Department.
