North Platte, Neb. – The North Platte Community College women’s golf team finished third at its home meet, competing across two courses over two days and posting a team score of 226-over par.
“I’m really pleased with the way our girls’ team competed,” head coach Mitch Carter said. “It was great to see both Iryana and Hailey have a good tournament, and their performances are encouraging as we look ahead to the rest of the fall season.”
Sophomore Iryana Frahm led the Knights, opening the tournament with an 86 before improving by two strokes in the second round. Her two-day performance earned her a sixth-place finish overall.
Hailey Matthews finished tied for 10th after carding a 92 in the opening round and a 97 on the second day, finishing with a 189 total.
Sophomore Zoey Oatts saved her best for the final round, firing a 91 to finish tied for 13th overall. Korryn Beberniss rounded out the Knights lineup with a 23rd place finish.
“The team will have a week off before competing,” Carter said. “We look forward to using the week to prepare for our next tournament.”
The Knights will return to action Sept. 24-25 when they travel to compete in the McCook Community College Tournament.
