Gibbon, Neb. - A Union Pacific train hauling coal derailed early Sunday morning in Gibbon.
According to Robynn Tysver, a spokesperson for Union Pacific, the derailment happened Sunday morning around 2:00am. The derailment occurred on the eastern side of Gibbon and 15 coal cars derailed.
Tysver also said in a written statement to the POST that the Buffalo County Sheriff Office responded to the scene. There are no injuries from the incident.
Crews are on scene continuing the cleanup process and the crash is still under investigation.
