The No. 20 Nebraska softball team will travel to Iowa City, Iowa, to take on the Hawkeyes this weekend. The games are set for 5 p.m. (CT) on Friday, 2 p.m. (CT) on Saturday and 1 p.m. (CT) on Sunday.&nbsp;

The Huskers are No. 20 in the NFCA Coaches Poll and have been ranked every week this season. They were also tabbed No. 21 in the ESPN/USA Softball rankings.

Last weekend, the Huskers hosted the Purdue Boilermakers for a three-game conference series. The Big Red grabbed victories on Saturday (13-1, five innings) and Sunday (6-0) but took a loss on Monday (2-6). Kacie Hoffmann and Hannah Camenzind each had a multi-homer game in the series. H. Camenzind also grabbed the Saturday victory in the circle, while Jordyn Bahl claimed the win on Friday. Bahl allowed no earned runs in that game while picking up a save and striking out 13 batters across her two appearances in the series. The Papillion, Neb., native earned Big Ten Pitcher of the Week honors for the second consecutive week.&nbsp;

Husker Pitching Staff Coming Off Quality Week

The Nebraska pitchers have been steadily improving over the course of the season, and their work culminated this past week.

The Nebraska softball team has enjoyed a solid season at the plate, most notably with its home run numbers.&nbsp;

Nebraska softball pitcher and utility player Jordyn Bahl has not only had an impact in the circle, but her offense is a force to be reckoned with.

Nebraska’s 2025 roster consists of 25 total athletes. Fourteen of those are returners.

Nebraska utilized the transfer portal this offseason, bringing in six new players -- Hannah and Lauren Camenzind and Kacie Hoffmann from Arkansas, Olivia DiNardo from Arizona, Kylee Magee from Arizona State and Ava Kuszak from Wisconsin.

Nebraska faced significant adversity in 2024, as a total of six players suffered season-ending injuries, including four that are returning for the 2025 season. Additionally, Arizona State transfer Kylee Magee had to use the offseason for rehab.&nbsp;

Iowa is 21-12 with a 3-4 mark in Big Ten competition. As a team, the Hawkeyes bat .290 and have an ERA of 3.64.

Last year, the Big Red had an ERA of 4.35 and this year, it is at 2.61.</li><li>Jordyn Bahl has pitched 22.1 straight innings without an earned run.  <li>As it stands, the 2025 squad would rank first in school history in slugging percentage (.636), second in on base percentage (.421) and third in home runs (69).&nbsp;</li><li>The Big Red scored 10+ runs in five straight games from Feb. 14-16 for the first time in program history.</li><li>NU notched five home runs in three straight games for what is believed to be the first time in school history.</li><li>In the Huskers’ game against San Jose State at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic, they hit four straight home runs for the first time in program history.</li><li>Nebraska scored 102 runs in its first 10 games of the season, which marked the quickest the team has hit the 100-run milestone.</li><li>The Huskers scored 200 runs in their first 23 games of the season, which marked the quickest the team has hit the 200-run milestone.</li><li>Ava Kuszak posted three home runs in the second game against Montana and is now tied with Kaylan Jablonski and Christie McCoy for the school record for home runs in a game.</li>

She averages an extra-base hit every 4.4 at bats and almost one extra-base hit per game.</li><li>Bahl has nearly as many hits herself as she has allowed as a pitcher. Bahl has 46 hits in 105 at bats at the plate and in the circle, she has allowed only 55 hits in 424 opponent at bats.</li><li>Bahl has also scored more runs herself (42) than she has allowed (39) in 107.1 innings in the circle.</li>

Over her two seasons at Arkansas, she played in 86 games (79 starts) at both catcher and shortstop.</li><li>DiNardo racked up numerous accolades during her two years at Arizona. She was a second-team NFCA All-West Region member in 2023 and a Third-Team member in 2024 and was named a Second-Team All-Pac-12 and Pac-12 All-Freshman Team honoree in 2023. Over the course of two seasons with the Wildcats, DiNardo started 102 games and built up a batting average of .340, along with 15 doubles, 20 home runs and 74 RBIs.</li><li>Hoffmann played in 106 games with 96 starts during her time with Arkansas. She hit .244 and logged 16 doubles, 15 home runs and 47 RBIs.&nbsp;</li><li>Kuszak earned second-team All-Big Ten honors and third-team NFCA All-Great Lakes Region accolades in 2024. During her two seasons at Wisconsin, she played in 76 games with 65 starts and notched 16 doubles, 10 home runs and 33 RBIs on a .278 batting average.</li><li>Magee was named a member of the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team at Arizona State in 2023. She suffered an injury early in the 2024 season. She pitched in 27 games with 24 starts and compiled a 3.51 ERA and two saves, along with striking out 79 batters in 89.2 innings.</li>

In 2022 and 2023, she was the Big Red’s starting left fielder.&nbsp;</li><li>Dakota Carter, the Huskers’ designated player, was deemed out for the 2024 season before it even began. In 2023, she scored 13 runs as a pinch runner and appeared in 39 games.&nbsp;</li><li>Caitlin Olensky suffered a season-ending injury in the Huskers’ conference opener against Illinois last year. Before her injury, she compiled a record of 3-2 with a team-best 3.30 ERA.</li><li>Emmerson Cope was out for almost a month of the 2024 season after battling a back injury. When she was in the lineup, the Topeka, Kan., native amassed an ERA of 4.76 in the circle. She racked up 21 hits, 10 runs, six homers and 19 RBIs.&nbsp;</li><li>Talia Tokheim missed the first 23 games of the season while rehabbing an injury from 2023. She returned for nine games before suffering another season-ending injury in game three of the Penn State series. In her limited time on the field, she notched 46 total bases and seven home runs.</li><li>Kylee Magee suffered a season-ending injury after racking up six appearances with four starts in her sophomore year with the Sun Devils. In her first two years at Arizona State, she struck out 79 batters in 89.2 innings.&nbsp;</li>
 </ul>Scouting Iowa (21-12, 3-4 Big Ten)Iowa is 21-12 with a 3-4 mark in Big Ten competition. As a team, the Hawkeyes bat .290 and have an ERA of 3.64.<ul>
 <li>The Huskers and Hawkeyes have common opponents in Tennessee, Texas Tech, Missouri, UCLA and South Dakota State. NU grabbed wins over the Vols, Tigers and two over the Jackrabbits, while Iowa defeated SDSU twice, split two games with UCLA and lost to the other teams.</li><li>Jalen Adams is fifth nationally and second in the Big Ten with 15 victories on the year.</li><li>Senior Hannah Lindsay was named the Big Ten Co-Player of the Week on Feb. 17, the Hawkeyes’ only weekly honor so far this season.</li><li>Jena Young bats .385 on the season and has a homer, eight doubles and 18 RBIs. She also boasts a 1.030 OPS.&nbsp;</li><li>Soo-Jin Berry has a team-high eight home runs this year, along with seven doubles on a .380 batting average.&nbsp;</li><li>Lindsay owns 21 RBIs in 77 at bats and has a .299 batting average and three home runs.</li><li>Allyssa Ramos and Desiree Rivera each have 13 RBIs. Ramos posts an average of .278, while Rivera’s is .261. They each add two home runs.</li><li>Tory Bennett has started every game for the Hawkeyes and has notched 20 hits, 16 RBIs and four doubles on a .222 average.</li><li>Devin Simon has also started every game and has a .280 average. She has 23 hits and 16 runs, along with six doubles and a homer.</li><li>Adams is the Hawkeyes’ ace, as she has pitched 114.1 innings and is 15-4 on the season. She has allowed 36 earned runs and struck out 84 batters.</li><li>Talia Tretton owns an ERA of 3.43 and a record of 6-5 across 79.2 innings pitched. She has allowed 39 earned runs and has 65 strikeouts and 44 walks.</li><li>Haley Downe (11.31 ERA, 4.1 IP), Andrea Jaskowiak (5.31 ERA, 3.2 IP) and Jaylee Ojo (24.00 ERA, 2.1 IP) make up the rest of Iowa’s pitching staff.</li><li>Karl Gollan was named head coach on March 7 and is leading the team in 2025 after Renee Gillispie stepped aside for personal health reasons.</li>

Huskers head to Iowa for Big Ten battle

The Nebraska women’s gymnastics team is set to compete in the second round of the NCAA Championships on Friday, April 4, at the Alaska Airlines Arena in Seattle, Wash. The Huskers will compete in Session II, which starts at 9 p.m. (CT) and will be streamed on ESPN+. NU will face off against No. 2 Oklahoma, No. 15 Auburn and the winner of the first round matchup on Thursday between Illinois and UC Davis.&nbsp;

The top two teams from each of the two sessions taking place on Friday will advance to the NCAA Regional Final, which will be on Sunday, April 6 at 7 p.m. (CT). Session I features No. 7 Missouri, No. 10 Georgia, No. 21 Arizona and Arizona State.

The Big Red kicked off its postseason run at the Big Ten Championships and placed ninth with a score of 196.175.&nbsp;

Emma Spence and Sophia McClelland were named to the Big Ten Conference Championship teams for their performance in the first session. Spence took the Big Ten Championships bar title with a season-high 9.975, and fourth in the all-around with a season-high 39.575. McClelland tied for third on beam across all sessions with a 9.950.&nbsp;

UCLA finished in first with a score of 198.450.

Session II of the Washington Regional will include Nebraska, along with No. 2 Oklahoma, No. 15 Auburn and the winner of the first round game on Thursday between Illinois and UC Davis.&nbsp;

The No. 2 Sooners are 21-2 on the season with a 7-1 mark in conference competition. They own an NQS of 198.040, including a high score of 198.475. Most recently, they finished second at the SEC Championships with a 197.925. Nebraska faced OU at the American Gold Collegiate Championship, where the Big Red fell 197.550-194.475.&nbsp;

The Tigers have an NQS of 197.170 and a high score of 197.750. They are 10-6 overall (3-5 SEC). The Huskers also faced AU at the American Gold Collegiate Championship, where NU fell 195.950-194.475.&nbsp;

Illinois is 9-12 this season (3-6 Big Ten) with an NQS score of 196.205. Nebraska fell to Illinois at Champaign this season 196.275-195.600.&nbsp;

UC Davis has an NQS score of 195.870 and a high team score of 196.400.&nbsp;

<a href="https://huskers.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/player/brice-williams">Brice Williams</a>’ 28-point night led three Huskers in double figures, as Nebraska advanced to the College Basketball Crown Semifinals with an 81-69 win over Georgetown Wednesday night.

Nebraska will face Boise State, a 100-93 winner over Butler, in Saturday’s first semifinal. Tipoff is set for 12:30 p.m. (Central) at T-Mobile Arena and it will be carried on FOX and the Husker Sports Network. Ticket info for Saturday’s game is available at collegebasketballcrown.com/schools/

Williams, who is averaging 29.0 ppg in the two games in Las Vegas, hit 8-of-14 shots from the field, including five 3-pointers to match a career high, as Nebraska improved to 19-17 on the season.

After Georgetown (18-16) whittled a 19-point Husker lead to 10 with just over five minutes remaining, Williams hit consecutive 3-pointers in a 31-second span to push the lead back to 76-62 with 4:18 remaining.

The Hoyas eventually whittled the lead to eight, at 77-69, with 2:43 left after a Austin Montgomery dunk but could get no closer as a basket from&nbsp;<a href="https://huskers.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/player/andrew-morgan">Andrew Morgan</a>&nbsp;and two Williams’ free throws provided the final margin as Georgetown did not made a field goal in the final 2:30 of the contest.

<a href="https://huskers.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/player/juwan-gary">Juwan Gary</a>&nbsp;added his second double-double of the season with 17 points and 10 rebounds while Morgan provided a strong effort off the bench with 12 points and nine boards for the Huskers.

Nebraska jumped out to an early 12-5 lead as Williams had six of his 10 first-half points in the first 3:12 of the contest. The Hoyas responded with an 8-2 run of their own to pull within 14-3 after a Jordan Burks 3-pointer at the 11:18 mark

Georgetown was within 16-15 before the Huskers ran off seven straight points in 1:36, building a 23-15 lead after&nbsp;<a href="https://huskers.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/player/connor-essegian">Connor Essegian</a>’s 3-pointer. &nbsp;Leading 23-18, two straight Essegian baskets started a 9-0 Husker run to stake Nebraska its largest lead of the half at 32-18 with 3:13 left and the Huskers took a 34-24 lead into the break,

Nebraska got the second half off to a quick start, as 3-pointers from Gary and Williams sparked an 11-2 start, as Williams scored five straight points to give NU its largest lead at 45-26 with 16:17 remaining.

The Hoyas would not go away behind the play of Malik Mack, who scored 23 of his team-high 25 points in the second half to keep Georgetown within striking distance. As a team, the Hoyas shot 50 percent from the field and 3-point line in the final 20 minutes in mounting a comeback.

Huskers advance to Crown Semifinals with 81-69 win

Nebraska suffered a 9-5 setback to Creighton on Tuesday afternoon at Hawks Field at Haymarket Park.

Nebraska (12-16) scored five runs on nine hits, while Creighton (17-7) totaled nine runs and 12 hits.

Riley Silva led the Big Red at the plate, going 3-for-5 with two RBI. Max Buettenback was 2-for-3 with a run scored, while Gabe Swansen, Hogan Helligso and Cael Frost had one hit and an RBI each.

TJ Coats recorded one out in the start, allowing three runs on two hits and a walk. Jalen Worthley pitched three innings in relief, surrendering one run on three hits. Drew Christo tossed 2.2 shutout innings, while Colin Nowaczyk was tagged with the loss after giving up two runs on two hits.

Ryan Harrahill dealt a pair of scoreless frames, followed by Pryce Bender and Luke Broderick combining to pitch the final inning.

Creighton raced out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first behind a pair of hits. The Bluejays had the bases loaded with one out after a leadoff double down the right-field line and a one-out hit batter and walk.

Back-to-back bases-loaded walks scored the first two runs, while an RBI single to right-center field grew the lead to three in the first.

The Husker offense locked the game at three in the second with a trio of hits in the bottom of the second. Dylan Carey was hit by the pitch to begin the inning, while Buettenback’s one-out single to right put runners on first and second.

Helligso got the Big Red on the board with an RBI single to center that brought home Carey from second. Case Sanderson drew a walk to load the bases with two outs, before Silva laced a two-RBI single to right-center field to even the game at three.

Creighton took a 4-3 lead in the top of the fourth with back-to-back singles after a one-out walk.

Cayden Brumbaugh reached on a fielder’s choice in the bottom of the fifth and moved to second on a groundout to first. The Big Red had runners on first and second with two outs after the Bluejays intentionally walked Carey. Swansen stepped up to the plate and ripped a pinch-hit RBI double to left field, scoring Brumbaugh and tying the game at four.

A leadoff walk and double to right field in the top of the seventh set up the go-ahead two-RBI single to left-center field for the Bluejays.

Carey was plunked to open the bottom of the eighth, and Buettenback singled to left field to put runners on first and second with one out. Frost came to the plate in a pinch-hitting role and lined an RBI double down the right-field line to bring the Big Red within a run.

Huskers fall to Bluejays on Tuesday

North Platte, Neb.&nbsp; – North Platte took a one run lead into the final inning of game two against Central Community College, but a big seventh inning helped the Raiders claim the sweep on Tuesday afternoon.

Hannah Dahlke drew a walk to open the doubleheader before a home run from Kami Kaskie two batters later put the Raiders up 2-0. Alieze Moreno earned a free pass to first base, while Victoria Arellano blasted one over the left field fence to knot the game up in the bottom half of the frame.

Central tallied two more runs in the second, but Sarah Perez connected on her first home run of the day to tie the game at 4-4. The Raiders jumped back on the offensive and tallied six more runs over the next three innings to build a 10-4 advantage.

Facing a six-run deficit in the bottom of the seventh inning, the Knights put two runners in scoring position with one down. A fielder’s choice allowed Moreno to score from third, before a Perez single scored the final run of the game.

Sheena Smith received the start in the circle for the Knights. The right-hander threw seven innings, allowing 10 runs on seven hits and struck out seven in the loss.

The scoring started early, as a single from Perez plated Moreno to give the Knights the 1-0 lead. North Platte was held off the board for the next two innings while Central racked up 10 runs.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, the Knights responded with nine runs to even the game at 10-10. During the big inning, North Platte posted eight hits including home runs from Wren Herrick and Perez.

North Platte briefly took the lead in the fifth on a wild pitch that plated Afia Hunt from third, but Central rallied in the top of the seventh inning to earn the come from behind sweep.

Arellano earned the start in the circle allowing eight runs on six hits in three innings. Moreno came on in relief and allowed 11 runs on eight hits in four innings in the loss.

NSAA Area Spring Sports scores from 4-1

CHADRON, Neb. – Chadron State athletics has officially announced its football schedule for the upcoming 2025 season, which features four home games, a Division I opponent and a Week 8 bye.

The Eagles' home dates at Elliott Field at Don Beebe Stadium will be September 13 at (vs. Black Hills State), September 27 (vs. Colorado Mesa), October 11 (vs. New Mexico Highlands) and November 8 (vs. Western Colorado). CSC's home opener against Black Hills State will kick off at 6 p.m., with the other three home games starting at 1 p.m.

For the second consecutive season, Chadron State will begin the season early with a "Week 0" game. This year, the Eagles will open on the road against the University of Northern Colorado, a Division I (FCS) opponent which currently competes in the Big Sky Conference, on Saturday, August 30. 

The following Saturday, September 6, Chadron State will complete its nonconference schedule by traveling to take on in-state rivals Nebraska Kearney. The two schools will compete once again for the "Good Life Trophy," a traveling trophy that was introduced last season for what is scheduled to be a yearly renewed rivalry between the schools.

Chadron State's home opener and Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference opener will be Saturday, September 13 against Black Hills State. The Eagles will play in consecutive weeks for the first eight games of the season prior to having a bye week during the week of Saturday, October 26. 

The September 27 game against Colorado Mesa will serve as both homecoming and the Eagles' Hall of Fame weekend. Senior Day will take place during CSC's home finale against Western Colorado on November 8.

Highlights of the road RMAC games on CSC's schedule include the annual Eagle-Rock Trophy showdown with South Dakota Mines in Rapid City on November 1 and the regular season finale at defending RMAC champions CSU Pueblo on November 15. 

Chadron State is coming off a competitive 3-8 season where the Eagles lost five games by seven points or fewer, including two one-score losses to nationally ranked opponents. 

The Eagles are set to return quarterback DJ Ralph, who battled injuries but was named the RMAC Offensive Player of the Week after one of the five games he started for CSC last season. Key leaders from a defensive unit that ranked second in the RMAC in total defense and third in scoring defense also return, including All-Region safety Dax Yeradi and linebacker Logan O'Brien. Chadron State also welcomed a class of 38 signees on National Signing Day this February.

All Eagle games, home and away, will be broadcast live with a video feed on the RMAC Network and on the radio on Double Q County 97.5/105.9 FM with Dave Collins. Further information on tickets will be available soon.

Chadron State began spring practice this past Wednesday. The Eagles' intrasquad spring game will take place on Friday, April 25.

"I am proud and humbled to be announced as the Head Football Coach of my alma mater, to which I owe a great deal of credit and appreciation to the many that have come before me," Crick said in a statement. "Great people, who've shaped my life, resulting in the responsibility I now have before me as the leader of this program."

The 35-year-old was a two-time All-Big 12 defensive tackle at Nebraska and played on NU's first Big Ten team in 2011, donning a Sports Illustrated cover before that season. The Houston Texans selected him in the fourth round of the 2012 NFL Draft. He had 199 career tackles in five seasons, injured his back in 2017 training camp, and did not play again.&nbsp;

Knights Women's Basketball land second recruit of 2025-2026 season

The No. 20 Nebraska softball team enjoyed a five-run sixth inning and downed the Purdue Boilermakers 6-0 on Sunday night at Bowlin Stadium.&nbsp;

The Huskers moved to 26-8 on the season with a 6-1 record in Big Ten competition, while Purdue fell to 17-15 (2-7 Big Ten).&nbsp;

As a team, NU out-hit the Boilermakers 10-2. Seven of those 10 hits came with runners on base. Olivia DiNardo and Samantha Bland notched two RBIs apiece for the Big Red, and DiNardo and Ava Kuszak had two hits each.&nbsp;

Hannah Camenzind (5-2) pitched 5.0 scoreless innings and allowed only two hits en route to claiming the win in the circle. Jordyn Bahl grabbed the save, as she threw the final two innings of the game and did not allow a hit while striking out five batters. Julia Gossett (5-5) took the loss for Purdue.&nbsp;

The Big Red got on the board and took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first when a DiNardo RBI single sent Kuszak, who had earlier singled herself and advanced to second on a groundout, to the plate.&nbsp;

Ava Bredwell opened the bottom of the sixth inning with a leadoff triple and scored on a DiNardo single. Kennadi Williams came in to pinch run for DiNardo and Kacie Hoffmann hit a single to send Williams to third. Katelyn Caneda pinch ran for Hoffmann and advanced to second on a Lauren Camenzind single that also scored Williams. Bland then doubled to score L. Camenzind and Caneda. Bland capped the inning by scoring on a Bahl single.&nbsp;

NU will close the series with Purdue tomorrow, March 31 at 4 p.m. (CT). The game will be televised on the Big Ten Network and can be heard across the Huskers Radio Network.&nbsp;

Knights finish second to open spring season

McCook Neb.&nbsp; – Taytom Timbers tallied a 36-hole score of 155 (+11) to tie for 17th, as the Knights finished fifth at the McCook Community College Invitational on Friday.

Timbers shot an opening round 81, before rallying with a 74 on the final day. The final round score consisted of one birdie, three bogeys and 14 pars.

Cole Kramer also bested his opening round score to finish in a tie for 22nd with a final round 78. Treyten York matched two of his teammates with an opening round 81, before a final round 79 placed him in a tie for 25th. Caeson Clarke&nbsp;rounded out the scorers with a 32nd place finish after rounds of 86 and 80.

Area Spring Sports Scores

McCook, Neb.&nbsp; – North Platte fell to Nebraska Community College Athletic Conference leader (RV) McCook Community College in a doubleheader on Thursday afternoon.

The Indians opened up the scoring with three runs in the first inning and a five run second inning.

North Platte got two runs back in the top of the fourth inning by kick starting the frame with back-to-back singles from Victoria Arellano and Heaven Hutchison. Hutchison’s single moved Arellano into scoring position and a sacrifice fly to right field plated the first run of the game.

McCook retired the next two batters before an error by the shortstop allowed Hutchison to score. Paige Warren struck out the next North Platte batter and limited the Knights to just one more hit over the next three innings to close out the win.&nbsp;

Sheena Smith went the entire way allowing eight runs on seven hits, while striking out two in six innings of work.

McCook continued their momentum into the second game while jumping out to a 16-0 lead in the opening four innings. Strong pitching held the Knights offense without a hit, as Lexi Knapp and Olivia Moorhead combined to retire six North Platte batters.

Alieze Moreno pitched 2.2 innings in the loss. She allowed eight runs on six hits and struck out two.

Knights (4-14) return to Region IX action on April 1 against Central Community College. First pitch is set for 2 p.m. at the Dowhower Softball Complex in North Platte.

McConnaughey to Miss Remainder of 2025 Season

• Nebraska Coach Will Bolt announced the first week in March that junior right-handed pitcher Mason McConnaughey will miss the remainder of the 2025 season after suffering an arm injury against Sam Houston at the Frisco Classic.

• McConnaughey began the season as the first husker named to the Golden Spikes Award Preseason Watch List since 2016 and earned Preseason All-American recognition from D1Baseball and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.

• Redshirt freshman Carson Jasa is set to make his third career start for the Huskers on Tuesday night.

• As a starter, the right-hander is 2-0 and holds a 1.80 ERA with 15 punchouts and an opposing batting average of .118 across 10 innings this season.

• The Thornton, Colo., native has recorded a pair of five-inning outings with two hits allowed in starts against Wichita State and Pepperdine.

• On the season, Jasa has appeared in seven games, including two starts, and has compiled a 5.52 ERA with 20 strikeouts in 14.2 innings of work.

• Nebraska is 113-23 under head coach Will Bolt when scoring at least six runs.

• The Big Red have scored six-plus runs in nine of the 10 victories this season, defeating No. 16 Vanderbilt (6-4), San Diego State (13-0), Louisiana (6-1), Washington (6-2), Wichita State (10-1), Pepperdine (9-6, 11-4) and USC (6-5).

NU's First Strikeout-Free Game Since 2014

• With an 11-4 win at Pepperdine last week, the Husker offense posted its first strikeout-free game since a 5-3 win vs. UNLV on March 30, 2014.

• The Huskers scored 11 runs on 11-of-35 hitting (.314) with a double, three homers and 10 RBI. The NU hitters drew seven walks and were plunked two times.

• Devin Nunez is slashing .343/.397/.478 with three homers, 14 RBI and 11 runs scored in 119 games, including 15 starts this season.

• Dylan Carey is hitting .279 on the season and leads the Huskers with seven doubles, four homers, 21 RBI and a .500 slugging percentage.

• Cayden Brumbaugh has scored a team-high 17 runs and is batting .286 with a team-high seven multi-hit contests this season.

• Robby Bolin has appeared in 17 games, including 10 starts, and is second on the team with a .314 batting average, while Tyler Stone has five doubles, two home runs and eight RBI in 15 games this season.

• Case Sanderson leads the NU offense with a .429 on-base percentage and 13 walks in 20 games played, and Riley Silva is second on the team with a .409 OBP and has scored eight times in 19 games.

• Will Jesske has three doubles, a triple, four RBI and eight runs scored while splitting time behind the dish with Hogan Helligso.

• Joshua Overbeek has tallied five extra-base hits with four RBI and nine runs scored, while Cael Frost has driven in eight runs, homered twice and is tied with a team-high 13 walks.

• Luke Broderick has totaled four saves in seven appearances for the NU bullpen and picked up his first win after dealing a career-high 2.1 innings at USC last weekend.

• Drew Christo and Caleb Clark have appeared in a team-high nine relief appearances on the season.

• Casey Daiss has tossed 5.1 scoreless frames across four appearances against Kansas State, Washington, Pepperdine and USC.

• Jalen Worthley is third on the team with eight appearances and has posted a 1-0 record, while TJ Coats has made four appearances, including two starts, in his debut season with the Huskers.

• Freshmen Pryce Bender, Colin Nowaczyk, Gavin Blachowicz and Blake Encarnacion have combined to pitch 26 innings in their debut season at Nebraska.

• Grant Cleavinger and Ryan Harrahill have each taken the mound five times for the NU pitching staff this season, combining for nine strikeouts in 8.1 innings.

Silva Closing in on All-Time HBP Chart

• Riley Silva has been hit by pitch 30 times in his two seasons as a Husker, which is one shy of 10th all-time in program history.

• Silva is one away from tying Jed Dalton (1992-95) in second and four shy of Dave Crain (1994-95) in ninth.

North Platte, Neb.&nbsp; – North Platte Community College softball used a total of 24 hits across two games to sweep Fort Hays Tech Northwest on Monday.

The Knights had seven different players notch at least one hit in the opening game of the doubleheader. Victoria Arellano and Heaven Hutchison were the only pair to tally double digit hits in game one.

North Platte got on the board in the first inning after a Sheena Smith double plated Arellano from second. The Knights went on to add three more runs in the bottom half of the second inning. An RBI single by Alieze Moreno plated Byanka Tyan before an Arellano double to center advanced Moreno all the way around the basepaths. The final run of the inning crossed the plate just one batter later on a single down the right field line.

North Platte tacked on an insurance run in the fourth inning when an error by the center fielder allowed Afia Hunt to score.

Smith went all seven innings to claim the win while allowing no runs on just three hits.

North Platte took advantage of the Tiger errors in the third inning, as two errors allowed Moreno to advance to second base to lead off the inning. A grounder back to the pitcher advanced the baserunner before a line out to right field advanced the runner to tie that game up at 2-2.&nbsp;

Tyan reached on an error by the right fielder, before four straight singles tacked on three North Platte runs. A double by Hutchison brought the final run across the plate as North Platte took a 6-2 lead.Knights continued to stretch their lead in the sixth inning with four more runs to earn their second sweep of the season.Moreno earned the win after allowing two runs on four hits in six innings of work. She also struck out three and walked two.Knights (4-12) will travel to McCook to take on the Indians in a doubleheader on Thursday. First pitch is set for 2 p.m.
