Island vibes are headed to western Nebraska this Memorial Day weekend as Gone 2 Paradise – The Ultimate Jimmy Buffett Experience takes the outdoor stage at Lake Mac Casino Resort & Racetrack on Saturday, May 23.
The concert begins at 8 p.m. and will feature the nationally known tribute act performing many of Buffett’s most recognizable hits in an outdoor setting designed to capture the feel of a tropical getaway.
Featured on NBC and WGN-TV, Gone 2 Paradise has built a following across the United States and internationally with performances celebrating the laid-back music and lifestyle associated with Buffett. The group is known for recreating the beach-party atmosphere Buffett fans, often known as “Parrotheads,” have embraced for decades.
“We’re excited to bring Gone to Paradise – The Ultimate Jimmy Buffet experience to Lake Mac Casino,” said Thomas Frank, general manager of Lake Mac Casino Resort & Racetrack. “It’s a fun, laid-back show that fits perfectly with Memorial Day weekend. It’s a great way for our guests to relax, have fun and enjoy an unforgettable night outdoors. We welcome all parrotheads.”
The concert is a stand-up outdoor show, though guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. Organizers say large bags, backpacks and coolers will not be allowed inside the venue. A full-service bar and food truck will also be available during the event.
Tickets are $10.
Casino officials also encourage guests to visit the property before the concert to participate in a Talon Outdoor camping item promotion running through 6 p.m. After the show, additional live music and a Pick-A-Petal drawing with prizes up to $500 are planned.
