Ogallala, Neb - The water is warm at Lake McConaughy north of Ogallala. The beaches are beautiful, and beginning September 11, reservation season is over for the year. All beach and campground camping will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Stop at the Visitors Center to pay camping fees or use the self-pay stations. FISHING opportunities continue into fall as anglers slab for walleye and white bass. Catfish can be caught year-round, especially at the west end of the lake.
