Hitchcock County - A City of McCook trash truck was involved in an accident Thursday morning in Hitchcock County which resulted in the death of the driver according to officials.&nbsp;

According to the City of McCook, the driver of the truck was identified as&nbsp;Wayne A. Cook, an employee of the City of McCook at its solid waste transfer station. Cook was driving the trash truck from McCook to the J Bar J landfill south of Ogallala.&nbsp;

The city says it's preparing to recover the semi and to implement clean up procedures. The Nebraska State Patrol, assisted by the Hitchcock County Sheriff’s Office, leads the investigation.&nbsp;
