Nebraska Department of Transportation
(North Platte, Neb.) — US-26, from reference post 149+76 to reference post 149+96, will be transitioned into two-lane, two-way traffic on the northbound lanes with a single lane in each direction on Oct. 22. Southbound traffic will utilize a median crossover at reference post 149+96, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
JJK of Ceresco is the contractor for this project. Work includes bridge repair on the southbound bridge over UPRR. Traffic will be maintained with lane dividers. An 11-foot width restriction will be in effect. Anticipated completion is Dec. 2024.
The purpose of this project is to preserve the transportation asset, improve the reliability of the transportation system and perpetuate the mobility of the traveling public.
Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and to put phones down.
