McCOOK, Neb. — The Mid-Plains Community College Board of Governors will meet Wednesday, July 15, at 6:30 p.m. in Room 225 of the East Campus at McCook Community College.
Among the items on the agenda is consideration of authorizing MPCC President Dr. Ryan Purdy to approve bids for a Mobile Skilled Trades Construction Training and Recruitment Trailer and related training simulators. The project is part of the Nebraska Department of Economic Development's ARPA Workforce Development Grant program and is intended to expand workforce training opportunities while supporting recruitment efforts throughout the college's service area.
Board members will also consider approving bids for athletic accident and catastrophic insurance coverage for student-athletes, as well as a contract to add the Jenzabar ERP Advancement Module, which includes implementation and training. The software is designed to enhance the college's advancement and fundraising operations.
Financial matters will also be addressed during the meeting. The board will review May and preliminary June financial reports before considering approval of monthly disbursements totaling more than $4.18 million. May disbursements total $1,208,185.62, while June disbursements total $2,981,259.86. Several board members who received routine reimbursement payments during those months will abstain from voting on those reimbursement items.
The agenda also includes approval of minutes from the board's May work session and regular meeting, president and cabinet reports, and a scheduled closed session for personnel matters.
The meeting is open to the public. An open forum is scheduled near the beginning of the meeting, allowing students, faculty, staff, and members of the public an opportunity to address the board. In accordance with Nebraska's Open Meetings Act, the board cannot take immediate action on topics raised during the open forum unless they already appear on the agenda.
