Post Sports Director had the chance to talk with Haven Smith from the Mid-Plains United Way and also Mark Russell aka Dragon, the President of the Guardians of the Children. The crew talked about what's been going on with the United Way but also giving us an inside of Guardians of the Children.
NORTH PLATTE - The Mid-Plains United Way recently announced late last week that they received a check from Ace Hardware for just a little over $800. Ace Hardware did a dollar round up in the month of October to help raise money for United Way. Mid-Plains United Way has a busy time ahead of them as they have more events coming up.

-Gift Wrapping: Friday, Dec. 8th - Dec. 10th at Walmart here in North Platte. Presented by Lashley Land
-Triple Bee Holiday Craft Show Concession Stand: Dec. 16th & 17th at the D&N Event Center
-Giving Tree - FNBO at 201 N Dewey to benefit Hope Esperanza and Nebraska Youth Center Dec. 1st-20th.
Guardians of the Children is a non-profit motorcycle organization that helps children that have gone or may be going through child abuse. Members in the organization will attend the court hearings with these children and show their support for the children while they are testifying in court against their perpetrator.
The organization is also hosting a toy drive that will go through Dec. 5th and has partnered with Taco Johns. Both North Platte Taco Johns is doing their Nacho Navidad fundraiser for GOC as they are donating $.25 for Apple Grande & $.50 for a LG Nacho Navidad.
