Post News Director Canon Rath chatted with Vaughn Fahrenbruck who is the senior pastor for the Rock Church in North Platte. The Rock Church is hosting a RocktoberFest this Saturday.
NORTH PLATTE - The Rock Church in North Platte is hosting their annual RocktoberFest this Saturday beginning at 5:30 at the Rock Church. The event will have family friendly activities, chili and cinnamon rolls, live music, pumpkin painting, and so much more. The event is free for anyone to attend.
This event initially started off as a chili cookoff before being switched to something fun and new. "It started out as a chili cookoff in our church, and we wanted to show North Platte how much we love our community," said Rock Church Senior Pastor Vaughn Fahrenbruck. "Were very for North Platte, very for our community and decide let's open it up to the entire city." The Rock Church wanted to find ways to expand their chili cookoff and get the community involved and that's how RocktoberFest was created. "We wanted to make it as a popup pumpkin patch and let's make it fun and let's make it free," said Vaughn.
The event is free to the public and is taking place this Saturday beginning at 5:30. If you would like to learn more about the event, check out the podcast above or check out the flyer below for the different activities.
