
The Ogallala City Council is set to meet in regular session at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24, at City Hall, 411 East 2nd Street, with a full agenda that includes a public hearing on a proposed telecommunications tower, wastewater funding requests, and routine city business.
Council members will begin with roll call and approval of the consent agenda, which includes minutes from the March 10 meeting and claims.
A public hearing will be held to consider a recommendation from the Ogallala Planning Commission regarding a special exception request for a wireless telecommunications tower. The proposed tower would be located in an I-1 Industrial Zone at 101 East County Road 80 in Keith County.
During the public forum, representatives from PeopleService Inc. are scheduled to provide an update.
Under recommendations from departments and committees, the council will revisit the telecommunications tower request following the public hearing. Additional items include consideration of a congressional directed spending request tied to the Ogallala Wastewater System Improvement Project, along with a letter of support for a fiscal year 2027 community project funding request for the same project.
Council members will also review a street department claim from Shelco Construction totaling $30,922.50.
Reports are scheduled from the city clerk-treasurer, city attorney, and city manager, with the manager expected to provide updates on ongoing projects.
City council members will also give reports from various boards and organizations, including the Board of Health, Ogallala Community Hospital and Health Foundation, Keith County Area Development, the YMCA, Chamber of Commerce, West Central Nebraska Joint Housing Authority, Library Board, West Central Nebraska Development District, Keep Keith County Beautiful, and the Western Resources Group.
The meeting will conclude with adjournment.
