Residents in Ogallala may notice a slight change in the taste or odor of their water next week as the city performs routine maintenance on its water system.
The City of Ogallala will chlorinate the municipal water supply beginning Monday, July 20, and continuing through Friday, July 24, 2026. The chlorination is part of regularly scheduled maintenance to help maintain the quality of the city's water system.
During the maintenance period, customers may notice a slight chlorine taste or odor in their tap water. City officials say this is expected and is not unusual during the routine process.
