(McCook, Neb.) — Weather permitting, a milling and hot mix overlay project will begin on or about October 8 on N-25, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
Cold milling is a process of removing deteriorated asphalt in preparation of placing hot mix asphalt to improve the roadway surface and drivability.
State maintenance forces will be performing a mill and hot mix overlay from reference post 12.15 to reference post 12.95, one mile south of Trenton. The work is anticipated to take 12 days. Traffic will be maintained with an automatic flagger assistance device and a pilot car and flaggers.
Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and put phones down.
