NebraskaLand University Welcomes Thirty-Seven Students

North Platte, NE- NebraskaLand University is proud to announce the acceptance of thirty-seven area high school seniors into its program. On Monday, October 7, 2024, these students will begin their journey of financial education.

NebraskaLand University is committed to helping students make informed financial decisions in their future. With the help of Senior and Executive Officers at NebraskaLand Bank, these high school seniors will be well-equipped to make the best decisions for their future.

NebraskaLand University consists of six courses covering important topics such as budgeting, savings, credit, loans, career and wealth development, and identity theft protection. Upon completion of the program and meeting all requirements, graduates will be awarded a $250.00 academic scholarship. Additionally, graduates will participate in an essay contest where they compete for larger scholarships. The first-place winner will receive a total of $1,000 in scholarships, the second-place winner will earn $750, and the third-place winner will receive $500. This initiative not only provides valuable financial education but also rewards academic excellence and encourages further advancement in students.

Students accepted include Katie Abbott, Sophia Baca, Max Berntson, Stephanie Budke, Anna Burklund, Gabriella Esther Caudillo, Leyton Connell, Karissa Czarnick, Rebekah Daily, Logan Dodson, Emma Elliott, Ethan Elliott, Reese Erbert, Reese Fleck, Logan Fletcher, Baylee Halouska, Ellie Hanna, Cole Huffman, Isaac Irish, Caden Joneson, Kinsey Kimberling, Jaxon Knisley, Sienna Mitchell, Elizabeth Nielsen, Kiley Palu, Saije Phelps, Cara Roberg, Jaxton Robinson, Magnuson Sawyer, Zoe Schmitt, Shelby Smyth, Blakeley Staroska, Makenna Still, Gabriella Swift, Addison Uehling, Jayden Wallace, and Natalia Wiezorek.

These thirty-seven students, represent diverse backgrounds and numerous areas of interest. From National Honor Society, Dance, Cheer, Athletics, Pre Med Club, Robotics, FBLA, FFA, Student Council, Student Government, Journalism, Skills USA, Band, Choirs, Quiz Bowl, and Theatre. These remarkable students possess the potential to truly make a difference in the community.

Since NebraskaLand University’s inception in 2014, 336 students have graduated the program, with academic scholarships awarded totaling $100,000.00.
