Ogallala, Ne - The Keith County Area Development and Mid-Plains Community College 2024 EXCEL Tour was a HUGE Success last week! About 75 high school freshman students from Paxton Consolidated Schools, and Ogallala Public Schools had the opportunity to spend their morning touring different professional industries right here in Keith County.
KCAD said in a release, "We are so grateful for this year's participants Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, the Keith County Chamber, Ogallala City Panel, and Sapp Bros. Petroleum." The goal of these EXCEL Tours is to inform local students about the diverse professional career opportunities that already exist right here in their own backyard. "We hope this information encourages students to consider joining the workforce in Keith County after graduation."
When asked about their favorite piece of knowledge gained through EXCEL, one of our students said, "I didn't know that there are really cool things to do in Ogallala, and thanks to EXCEL now I do. Coming to this makes me want to come back to Ogallala."
